Plumas Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)PAWS is a private non-profit organization dedicated to ending the killing of adoptable companion animals in Plumas County, California. We are located in the small mountain town of Quincy, CA, about 80 miles northwest of Reno, Nevada. We are not part of or funded by any other group though there are many bearing a similar name. PAWS rescues cats and kittens who would otherwise be put to death at the county animal shelter. In the past two years alone, over 800 beautiful innocent loving creatures were rescued by PAWS and placed in new homes. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and funded entirely by individual donations.
