Animal Friends, located in Pittsburgh's Strip District, is committed to building a stronger, healthier, more compassionate community for all of our two- and four-legged neighbors. Serving as a no-kill shelter for more than 60 years, Animal Friends promises a second chance to over 2,400 homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats every year while offering a broad range of supportive programs and services to the community. Our programs include: Placement/Adoption Services; Animal Birth Control Program - Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Services; Humane Education Programs; Pet-Assisted Therapy; Foster Care; Humane Investigations; Obedience Classes; Pet Loss Grief Classes; Community Outreach Programs; and Volunteer Opportunities. From subsidized spay and neuter services to obedience classes to pet-assisted therapy visits to a comprehensive humane education program, Animal Friends is committed to a progressive, pet-related approach to solving community problems.
