WHO WE ARE The NS SPCA Metro Shelter is the shelter facility for the NS SPCA. The Metro Shelter takes in approximately 2500 animals a year. The shelter's primary mandate is to house,care for and find loving homes for animals seized from cruelty investigation or stray, homeless animals. Owner surrendered animals can only be taken if room allows
