Cascade Ferret Network

The Cascade Ferret Network (CFN), a 501(C)(3) tax exempt corporation, is different from traditional ferret shelters: instead of housing the ferrets in a single place, the CFN depends upon a network of qualified foster homes, each of which cares for only a few ferrets at a time. The Cascade Ferret Network provides humane care and adoption opportunities for rescued, abandoned, abused, or otherwise homeless domestic ferrets. Loving temporary or permanent homes are provided by a network of qualified foster parents until an adoption opportunity matches a ferret with a good home. The CFN provides advice, referrals and volunteer opportunities.

Cascades Raptor Center

CRC is a non-profit nature center and wildlife hospital founded in 1987. In its first few years, the educational programs of the Raptor Center only took birds to schools and public events, but in early 1994, CRC moved to its current location on a wooded hillside in southeast Eugene and opened to the public. CRC's Mission is to preserve a healthy, viable population of birds of prey and other wildlife in their natural habitat. To accomplish this, CRC has two primary goals: Public Education designed to enhance the awareness, respect, appreciation, and care of the earth and all its inhabitants so critical for a balanced and healthy planet. CRC uses live, permanently disabled/non-releasable birds, along with visual media and written material, to create a positive, first-hand experience of wildlife through â—Š on-site visits to the Nature Center â—Š off-site presentations and exhibits at schools and public events. Rehabilitation and release of orphaned, sick, and injured wildlife, primarily birds of prey (raptors), using the highest standards of medical treatment and care, and the best facilities possible.

CAT rescues, rehabilitates and places the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens into loving, lifetime homes. CAT not only partners with the community but with local county shelters, other rescue groups and veterinary offices to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems or space constraints. Chimps Inc

Chimps Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(C)3-1 wildlife sanctuary dedicated to furthering chimpanzee conservation through education. It was founded by Lesley Day in 1995 in response to the multitude of captive chimpanzees desperately in need of homes. Our private sanctuary provides a place of refuge for those apes and big cats that have come from roadside zoos, entertainment industry and the private sector.

Chimps, Inc

CHIMPS INC. is a nonprofit 501(C)3-1 organization dedicated to furthering chimpanzee conservation through education. Here at our private sanctuary, CHIMPS INC. offers a recuperative home for released chimpanzees to live out their lives in dignity. Many chimpanzees in the United States suffer for the first 13 to 14 years of their lives in biomedical research, the entertainment field, or parks/zoos. Upon reaching adolescence, chimpanzees make the life threatening mistake of growing up. Traditionally, euthanasia was the next step, meaning that retirement centers and sanctuaries have not been necessary. Now that we are more aware of the 98.4% genetic compatibility of the chimpanzees to humans, it is no longer morally acceptable to murder our sibling species. Chimpanzees that have dedicated their lives to the human cause now find themselves unwanted and forgotten. Because no chimpanzee ever volunteered to be enslaved by humans, we are once again left to clean up our mess. Humans have the power to enslave these individuals for selfish purposes. Now we must ensure that their contribution to humanity is rewarded by providing them with the best possible care for the remainder of their years (which can reach beyond 50 years).
