Greyhounds New BeginningsWe are the Laird's, Carol and Harold. Our love affair with Greyhounds started about 8 years ago. We read an ad placed by a couple of greyhound groups in our local newspaper and decided to check it out. We met the groups and our First Greyhound at a local Franks Nursery & Craft store. The meeting went well, so well in fact that less than 24 hours later Harold found himself driving to Grand Rapids to pick up the first of many Greyhounds we would adopt. soon after that we began our own adoption, non-profit organization to find homes for even more Greyhounds. Founded in July 2002, in hopes of reducing the overwhelming number of stray cats who roam our city and surrounding areas. We have chosen trap-neuter-return (TNR) as our means of accomplishing this seemingly impossible task. Studies have shown this program to be much more effective and humane than euthanasia, because the cats can reproduce quicker than they can be taken away.
