(Spoke N Paws Assistance Dogs)Train Rite is dedicated to enhancing the lives of disabled individuals by adopting shelter and rescue dogs, and training them using positive training techniques to perform everyday tasks for their disabled partner. Continual communication with each team ensures their continued independence. Once in a great while, Train Rite adopts a dog that just won't be able to perform as an Assistance Dog. Sometimes it's for medical reasons, sometimes it's due to temperament. No matter what the reason, this sweet creature will still need a good home. GREYHOUND CONNECTION INCGreyhound Connection's mission is simply to make a difference - one greyhound at a time. Founded in 2000, GC was formed by several greyhound rescue volunteers who believed a key ingredient was missing in local greyhound programs, and that was FOSTERING. GC believes that an important step in helping a retired greyhound transition from racer to couch potato is a short period of time living in a foster home, where they are introduced to unfamiliar things such as stairs, tile floors, sliding glass doors, children, cats, and more. Equally as important, fostering allows us to learn more about the dogs' individual personalities so that we can make the best match with a new family. CALIFORNIA SIAMESE RESCUE CASRBecause of the sensitive nature of Siamese and Siamese mix cats 'showing' poorly in shelters with the end result being euthanasation, a group of us felt the need to dedicate an organization within our own state to rescue them. And so California Siamese Rescue was 'born' as a new, non-profit organization in July 2001. California is a large state, with varying polices from county to county. We felt adopters, fosters, and rescues could better be served by having two Directors, Denise Fabel in Northern California and Mary Ann Martin in Southern California, who work with volunteers in rescue and fostering, as well as providing support where needed. We are like the other Centers in that our goal, and end result is the same, to take the helpless, homeless and abandoned cats and kittens, (who through no fault of their own,have landed into unfortunate, if not potentially lethal circumstances), and find "forever" homes where they may live the rest of their lives in safety. We also provide medical screening and/or care when needed to insure they are adoptable. But, we are different in that all of our rescues live in foster homes, (located in different areas of the state), who are in most circumstances the caring individual(s) who also rescued the cat or kitten.
