We have active members in many states who share a common goal........helping, comforting and finding new homes for Boston Terriers anywhere in the United States and Canada. We help Boston Terriers by giving them any vet care that they need. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on all their shots including bordetella, heartworm tested, treated if necessary and all are on heartworm preventative and flea preventative. We also check for intestinal parasites/worms and treat when necessary. Texas Hearing and Service DogsTHSD is a non-profit organization that trains Hearing and Service Dogs to assist people with disabilities. THSD adopts all of our dogs from animal shelters and rescue leagues. Utilizing positive reinforcement, we train the dogs, pair them with their new partners and then train them as teams all free of charge to the recipients. Thundering Paws Animal SanctuaryOur animals come from local shelters and from their former guardians; some just walk up the driveway. A bout 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. Elgin Humane Society Adoption CenterThe Elgin Humane Society is a non-profit group dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education. It is the policy of the Society to promote humane care and treatment for all animals in Elgin and in the Elgin area; to seek to assist the return of lost animals to their owners; and to seek suitable homes for animals without owners. The Society assists the Elgin Animal Control Officer and the Elgin Animal Shelter related to the mission statement above.
