We are the Laird's, Carol and Harold. Our love affair with Greyhounds started about 8 years ago. We read an ad placed by a couple of greyhound groups in our local newspaper and decided to check it out. We met the groups and our First Greyhound at a local Franks Nursery & Craft store. The meeting went well, so well in fact that less than 24 hours later Harold found himself driving to Grand Rapids to pick up the first of many Greyhounds we would adopt. soon after that we began our own adoption, non-profit organization to find homes for even more Greyhounds. We are based in Battle Creek, Michigan and are proud to say we have been responsible for the placement of many Greyhounds into loving homes.

A non-profit TNR group made up of local volunteers dedicated to reducing the suffering of homeless cats and kittns through TNR. Founded in July 2002, in hopes of reducing the overwhelming number of stray cats who roam our city and surrounding areas. We have chosen trap-neuter-return (TNR) as our means of accomplishing this seemingly impossible task. Studies have shown this program to be much more effective and humane than euthanasia, because the cats can reproduce quicker than they can be taken away. Alley Cat Angels has been honored with the Humane Society-Calhoun Area “Humanitarian Award for the last 2 years.

Wonderful and Grateful Strays Sanctuary is a place on earth where pets, that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, can stay while a loving home is found for them. I specialize in the "one of a kind" breeds because the mixes are usually the first ones abandoned and the last to be chosen. So my heart go out these special kids. W.A.G.S. has placed hundreds of rescued pets, from off the streets, as well as, the precious adoptable pets that have landed in local animal control shelters that were not adopted and are scheduled for being put down to make room for the incoming. Spirits are re-energized and sad memories are replace with miles of daily romps and endless playtime if they choose. It is so rewarding to witness the fears the pets have melt away.
