Wiggle is a smooth black and tan dachshund the Colby's rescued from a pet store where he had been dropped and stepped on by customers who were allowed to mishandle the puppies. Norm inspired the Colby's, their family, and friends to do what they can to help animals in need, educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering, and eventually put an end to the euthanasia of healthy animals in animal shelters. Operation TopcatOperation Topcat is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1995 by a few residents of Topsail Island, NC to assist individuals who were trying to do the same thing we were: help the stray and feral cats in our area. Our organization follows the Trap/Neuter/Return (T/N/R) program recommended internationally. With this method, feral (wild) cats are trapped, neutered, and have an ear tipped for easy recognition. Animals are not euthanasied unless recommended by a NC licensed veterinarian. Those who cannot survive in the wild are allowed to live out the rest of their lives on the premises. We extend our services to abused, neglected, and older animals. Our dogs are available for adoption.
