Tippecanoe County Humane Society
The Tippecanoe County Humane Society was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginnings more than 60 years ago, TCHS has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in its community.
We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

The LaGrange County Animal Shelter is a small facility that serves the rural community of LaGrange County Indiana. The current shelter is very small and insufficent for the needs of the community. The shelter has two employees. We are always desperately seeking volunteers and donations. Please consider us as you decide to volunteer for community service. We are currently looking for volunteers to answer phones during shelter hours so that paid employees are able to work more with the cleaning and caring for animals. We would also like to find able bodies to volunteer on Tuesdays during the flea market season in Shipshewana to pass out volunteer applications, collect donations, and show pictures of adoptable dogs. We are able to house 20 adult dogs and several puppies. We also house cats.

The Internet Miniature Pinscher Service, Inc. (IMPS) was formed in July of 1998 with the adoption of Lister through the Miniature Pinscher e-mail group at saluki.org. For information on the Miniature Pinscher e-mail list, please visit the "Minpin List" Page.
The IMPS mission is to improve the lives of homeless and abandoned Miniature Pinschers through rescue and the love and respect that comes with humane care, compassion and kindness.
IMPS attempts to assist Miniature Pinschers in need by providing foster care, transport, adoptive homes, veterinary care, and other services and information for the well-being of Miniature Pinschers. All Miniature Pinschers placed through IMPS will be spayed or neutered prior to placement, and have been thoroughly evaluated by a breed representative for temperament and training needs. IMPS requires reimbursement of all necessary veterinary costs (eg. the cost of the spay/neuter, microchipping, and any veterinary care required prior to placement), and in some instances, travel costs. A donation to the organization is requested with each adoption so that we may continue to care for chronically ill and/or severely injured foster dogs. In all cases, any expenses related to the adoption will be agreed upon prior to placement. While the Adoption expenses may be negotiable for some dogs, please remember that the care and upkeep of a dog, even the "King of Toys", requires some financial outlay, and if a small placement expense is beyond your means, you may wish to consider a pet which does not require as much care as the Miniature Pinscher

Our goals are to provide education about responsible pet ownership to our community, to ensure humane care of our shelter animals and to promote spaying & neutering as a solution to the pet overpopulation crisis in our community. We work to increase adoptions & rescues of our shelter animals. We are rescue friendly and urge legitimate rescues to contact us about helping our animals. We are also always looking for good foster homes, so if you would like to help an animal by fostering please let us know.

We are a very small rescue group currently working on getting a non-profit status. We rescue animals, primarily from the local shelter, as often as possible. The President and Co-Founder of Gracie's H.E.A.R.T. of Gold, Kim Lane May, is also the Board President of the local humane society. At this point, all of the animals rescued through us come from this shelter based on the extreme overcrowding that continues to go on there. We are so passionate about saving as many lives as we can and appreciate all of the interest in the animals we rescue. We get extremely attached to all the "babies" we rescue and therefore may seem a bit stringent on our policies. We truly are in this to find the perfect fit and the best possible home for each animal we rescue. We often find numerous wonderful families for each animal and do our best to continue to find an animal suited for each family who expresses a desire to give one of our babies a forever home. We love to keep in touch and get wonderful updates from our adoptive families and try to visit when we can, so we can see "our babies". We have met so many wonderful and absolutely unbelievable families since 2003 when we first started doing this. So many friendships have been formed based on our mutual bond and love for the animal adopted. For each is a blessing not only for the animals, but for us. While we miss each and every animal we have adopted out, we know in our hearts they are in the best possible place they could ever be...and for that we are grateful. Thanks to all who have taken into your hearts and your homes one of our own and made them one of your own....You are our angels. You are our heros.

ROCK Rescue was formed to rescue and help animals from the local humane society and private referrals. The rescue was originally started by one of our members that painted rocks with portraits of animals and sold them to raise money to pay for the expense of helping needy animals. That is how we came up with our rescue’s name. Later two more members joined in the group. All three of us are also members on the board of directors for the Marion/Grant County Humane Society, in Marion, Indiana.

WSRMI is a small group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue of all breeds/mixed breed dogs from several area shelters. We provide each rescue dog any - and all - necessary medical attention, addressing each individual dog's needs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, HW tested (and treated if positive), fully vaccinated (including ProHeart vaccination), and treated for fleas. As we welcome the dogs into our homes, we are able to socialize, work on crate training and housebreaking, evaluate each individual dog's temperment, how they interact with other dogs, children, and adults. This provides potential adopter's with very important information and assists them in finding a "love match" with one of our dogs. We welcome any, and all, donations - especially bags of dry dog food.
