Suncoast Basset Rescue is a not-for-profit, volunteer effort that rescues Basset Hounds from abusive, abandoned and unwanted situations just for the love of the breed. Our organization gives bassets a second chance to live, as they were intended as someone’s best animal friend. Our rescue efforts began in 1997 with two volunteers and help from the Suncoast Basset Hound Club of Tampa, Inc. We have rescued over 1000 bassets since then. Today, Suncoast Basset Rescue Inc is a 501c(3), not-for-profit organization , which exists solely on donations.

Many of the animals Florida East Coast Cocker Spaniel Rescue takes in come from shelters just prior to being destroyed. A few are picked up as strays. Unfortunately, too many are turned in by owners who no longer want them. We have an Alliance with several Cocker Spaniel Rescue groups throughout the United States and can refer you to one in your area if desired.

Doggone Dogs
Doggone Dogs of S. Florida is a no kill, non profit 501c3 dog and cat rescue. Originally a Sheltie rescue, we quickly expanded to include all dogs, no matter their breed, size or even infirmity. Large, small, young, old, deaf, blind, if they were unwanted or unloved, they were welcome. It was only a matter of time before we expanded even more to include cats and kittens. As a non profit organization, our animals rely heavily on the wonderful people who donate their time to help us run our rescue. We are always in need of more foster homes, supplies and volunteers to staff our adoption site. If you are interested in volunteering your time to help our animals, please contact us. We would be happy to hear from you and have you on our team! Your time counts toward community service hours for school graduation requirements.

We are a small group of rescuers who joined together to care for homeless dogs and make them available for people who want a new family member. Our animals live in our homes as members of our family until they are adopted. We strive to match the adopter with the right dog. We require an application with references and a home visit before placing a dog in your home.

We are are a small South Florida rescue organization based in the Fort Lauderdale area and dedicated to the well-being of lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals. We do not have a shelter, so our rescues live within our own private foster homes where we provide temporary, safe refuge.
