SCAMP has been giving Malamutes a Second Chance at the life of love and happiness that every pet deserves since 1990. Originally called WI Alaskan Malamute Rescue, SCAMP became incorporated in 1998 as a non-profit organization for the following reasons:
To attempt to reunite Malamutes with their owners, assist breeders willing to take them back, and to aid in relocating unwanted Malamutes in permanent, appropriate adoptive homes.
To create a network that will keep track of dogs who are lost or found and are being kept in foster homes or shelters, and to keep track of people interested in adopting and volunteers for foster homes.
To work to prevent cruelty to Malamutes and all dogs by educating the public about responsible care, including spay/neuter and in the training of their dogs.
SCAMP is operated by a group of volunteers and our foster homes/kennels are scattered throughout the state of Wisconsin. We provide most of the necessary medical care and vaccines before adoption. All dogs are spayed/neutered, and are temperament tested before adoption.

At the present time, Second Chance Animal Adoption volunteers care for dogs and cats in foster homes. We show pets by appointment, at the convenience of those who call. The fee for adopting a dog is $60, and $20 for adopting a cat, which includes spaying/neutering, worming, and vaccinations. Our long-term goal is to build a staffed shelter for dogs and cats.

Second Chance Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to retrieving adoptable cats and dogs from local animal shelters and finding them loving homes. Every year thousands of cats and dogs are euthanized in animal shelters across the country due to pet overpopulation, limited resources and irresponsible pet owners. Many of these cats and dogs end up in these shelters because they are no longer the small, cute kittens or puppies they brought home, but adult cats and dogs. Others are strays who's owners never claimed them or a neglected pet who has developed a behavior that requires the owner spend a little time with it. We believe these animals who have loved their owners unconditionally deserve a second chance. If you are planning on adopting a companion pet consider one of our shelter cats or dogs. Also, check your local shelters where you'll find many lovable and adoptable cats and dogs

Second Chance Animal Rescue and Adoptions is an organization committed to saving abused and homeless animals and rehabilitating them for proper adoption. Zeke (above) was rescued and is shown here awaiting adoption. Atlanta animal shelters euthanize thousands of unwanted dogs each month, and SCARA rescues as many slated for Death Row as possible in order to offer them a "second chance" at life and happiness. Once the animals are rescued, each is spayed/ neutered, treated with shots, tested for heartworms and, in many cases, brought back to health with essential vet work and surgery.
