Pontotoc Animal Welfare SocietyPontotoc Animal Welfare Society was incorporated as a nonprofit, charitable orgainization in September, 1982. PAWS operates the animal shelter for the purpose of sheltering lost, unwanted, sick and injured animals until a new home can be found or the animal is humanely disposed. PAWS also has an agreement with the city of Ada for the placement of impounded dogs and cats. These animals must be kept for 72 hours allowing the owner time to reclaim. Donations to this organization are tax deductible. We are always in need of collars, leashes, canned cat and dog food, treats, toys, bath towels, paper towels, pens and paper. We love having visitors. Please come and see our new "cat room" where cats can be free in a nice sunny room to play and sleep. PAWS also now has a "visiting room". There you can take the dog/cat that you like and get to know them better. The foundation was formed by a dedicated group of individuals, who, at their own expense, have been searching the streets of Los Angeles for stray dogs and unwanted pets for several years. Pooch Protector RescuePooch protector Rescue is a small organization. We have limited space and resources. We can always use donations! : ) We focus on the welfare of each dog in our rescue. Training them and making them more adoptable, well rounded pets is our goal! Michelle is the founder of Pooch Protector Rescue. She has had dogs all of her life and has done informal rescue as long. Pooch Protector has been up and going for 5 years and We are very proud of our organization. We want whats best for the dogs. We try to help mostly large dark dogs as they are more unlikely to be adopted out of a shelter.
