Platte Animal Welfare Services Inc.PLATTE ANIMAL WELFARE SERVICES, INC. (PAWS) Founded in August 2003, Platte Animal Welfare Services, Inc. (P.A.W.S.) is a small non-profit organization in Platte County, Wyoming, dedicated to the safety and comfort of its four-legged residents. Our Mission is to encourage spaying and neutering and to provide education, placement, transportation, advice, and ideas to promote the welfare and well being of all animals in Platte County. Since our inception, P.A.W.S. has become the first resource to contact to have a pet spayed or neutered, to find a missing pet, to place an unwanted pet, to rescue a stray or injured animal, or to adopt a new companion. In addition to providing rescue and placement services, we offer a variety of community activities to assist the public in solving problems with their pets, including Canine Obedience Training Classes. Platte Valley Humane SocietyExciting news for PVHS! We have purchased the old Platte Valley Veterinary Clinic building in downtown Columbus. We are so thrilled to finally have a building to house our adoptable animals and to have everyone in one place to make it easier for potential adopters to see all of the animals. Playing Again Sams Wisconsin Samoyed RescueWe are here to find good homes for samoyeds that wound up in a bad situation. The dogs we have for placement come from a variety of backgrounds, whether it be rescued from a Humane Society, surrendered from an owner who no longer wants the dog, discovered abandonded, etc. We get a variety of dogs here, male and female, young and old. All of these dogs need a stable home--someone who is willing to make the commitment to caring for these dogs. Some dogs will will adjust very quickly to new owners; others will take several years to develop a sense of trust. Our goal is to match a dog to the personality and lifestyle of its new owners to minimize the time it will take for the dog and its new owners to bond.
