Animal Care League ShelterThe ACL's mission is... Protecting animals from improper use, abuse, neglect, inhumane treatment and health hazards. Educating the public about responsible pet ownership. Sheltering lost, abandoned and unwanted animals. Preventing the birth of unwanted animals. Reuniting lost pets and their families. Adopting animals into loving and responsible homes. Lovingly caring for the pets that reside in our animal shelter. This mission is accomplished through the dedication and energy of our small shelter staff, board of directors, and legion of faithful volunteers. The Animal Care League accepts dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, which we care for until we find responsible new owners. These animals have either been surrendered by their owners who can no longer keep them or have been transferred from other animal control facilities. Our ability to accept animals is limited to the space we have available. We euthanize animals only in cases of irremediable health problems or other grave circumstances. We have had an early spay/neuter program in place since 1994; this allows us to spay or neuter each animal we offer for adoption, one of our contributions to ending the horrible cycle of pet overpopulation.
