Open Paws Pet RescueWe are a group located in the Mid-South area that is dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs from neglected, helpless situations. We have rescued a few felines, bunnies and reptiles as well. We are not able to accept owner surrenders or animals from individuals. Operation Bring Animals HomeOBAH began September 2005 after Hurricane Kartina devastated the gulf coast. Our founder, Caryn Majeskie, realized that there was a desperate need for people to get into the areas for search and rescue as well as feeding and watering the animals on the streets. Once the news broke, local news stations and newspapers took ahold of the story and the operation took off.
