Hands for Paws is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the suffering of stray dogs (called satos by the locals) roaming Puerto Rico, desperately in need of medical attention, food and water, and a loving touch. We were originally created at Manos por Patas, which means Hands for Paws in Spanish, and operate under both names. Our program involves providing sterilizations to the dogs as well as medical attention and vaccinations. We will broaden the program to provide free or low-cost spay and neuter services for all pets in Puerto Rico. We are also beginning a public awareness program that will involve radio and television spots to increase awareness about the cruelty imposed on these animals and will take programs into the schools to educate children about animal cruelty and ethical treatment of animals.

Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose volunteers specialize in educating the public about the care of domestic rabbits. We aim to place surrendered or abandoned rabbits in loving homes where they will be welcomed as family members. Formerly a part of the Oregon Humane Society, in 2002 we created a group solely devoted to promoting the welfare of domestic rabbits. The Rabbit Advocates operate an education and adoption website as well as two help lines; one through the Oregon Humane Society and one on our own. We hold rabbit adoption outreach events and other activities at locations around the Portland Metro Area and hold monthly meetings at Oregon Humane Society.
Our purpose is to promote the welfare of domestic rabbits.

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

We are a tiny, in-home rescue that is run by a wife and husband. Abandoned Companions would like to expand some day with the help of volunteers willing to provide loving foster homes. Currently, we cannot accept any new pets until others are adopted. We will not take in any more animals than we can love and care for properly

We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of German Shepherd Dogs in need. Most of the dogs in our program are rescued from high kill shelters. When we take in a GSD, we make a commitment to that dog to resolve any health and/or behavioral issues and find a home that will fit his or her needs. We take this commitment very seriously. We often take in dogs with serious health issues that would otherwise have no chance. That is what true rescue is all about to us.
