Brooke County Animal Shelter

The shelter is a county ran facility and as such is NOT a no-kill shelter. We are over booked and need help getting our furry friends homes FAST.The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and strives to adopt as many animals as possible. Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter

Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) of Pendleton Co., WV was formed in April, 2005 by a group of concerned Pendleton County residents. There has never been an animal shelter in Pendleton prior, not even a dog pound! We have been able to save some pets over this time, but would like to increase our capacity and effectiveness because there are many more pets we are unable to help due to a lack of funding and we are the only option for homeless animals in Pendleton. Though we are are relatively new, we do have our 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status, so all donations are tax deductible and used to pay veterinary bills and basic costs like phone, supplies, kennels & crates. As of 6/20/07, PAWS has rescued 134 pets through our Pet Rescue program!

Greyhound Rescue Inc

Greyhound Rescue, Inc. was founded in 1989 by John and Denise Davis. Our goal is to find high-quality, loving homes for ex-racing Greyhounds and to educate people about the excellent, loving pets these noble creatures make. John and Denise founded the rescue program after they adopted Stacey, a white, brindle-patched, ticked female who raced into their hearts. Their interest in the rescue effort developed into the formation of their own rescue organization. Since its inception, Greyhound Rescue, Inc. has placed over 2,000 Greyhounds in homes throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Humane Society of Pocahontas County

Since its founding in 1998, the Humane Society of Pocahontas County has been instrumental in spaying and neutering hundreds of pets and strays and arranging adoptions of many animals. Our rescue efforts have saved starving horses, lost and abused animals and most recently helped to shut down a cat breeding operation which was out of control. Although Pocahontas County has no official shelter, we support the efforts of our Humane Officer, and are committed to a future where unwanted animals in the county will be cared for in a modern facility.

We are proud to step forward and fight for the need's of Man's best friend, the dog We are not fanatics, we want to help. We are here to give advice and to lend an ear. We are here to train you to train your dog and if that still doesn't work, we will help you to find a home for your dog, so that this gorgeous, precious gift doesn't have to suffer. BTHaven

BTHaven is associated with the Boston Terrier Rescue Net. We abide by the code of ethics established by the Boston Terrier Club of America, Inc. We will not purchase dogs from puppymills or owners. Our adoption fee is $250 for purebred Bostons Terriers, although this fee may be partially waived for senior or special needs dogs. All animals are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered, housetrained, and evaluated before placement.
