Welcome to the homepage of the Animal Liberation Action Group, a recognized student organization at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, USA. The group advances knowledge of animal exploitation, and seeks to end prejudice and unjustifiable discrimination against animals. Peter Singer, philosopher, author and the world's foremost Animal Liberationist, articulates the philosophy and goals of the Animal Liberation movement. A main point of this philosophy is that:
. . . the ethical principle on which human equality rests requires us to extend equal consideration to animals, too

Animal Rescue and Farm Sanctuary serves as an adoption facility for barnyard animals of all kinds. Horses, Cattle, Potbellied Pigs, Goats, Sheep and others species in need of finding a new home. We believe in rescue and relocation, networking with other shelters and strive to find caring individuals that have a genuine interest in specialty barnyard pets. We accept surrendered animals as long as the prior owner understands that their pet will be placed in a new home. We do not believe in holding on to a large number of animals when there are wonderful families waiting on our list for a chance to have a hobby farm pet of their own

ANIMAL RESCUE FEDERATION Superior, Wisconsin (revised September, 2002) We are a charitable nonprofit organization devoted to the welfare and humane treatment of animals. Our main focus is finding good, permanent homes for homeless companion animals through our screening process and humane education. We strive to educate the public on the care and responsibility of a pet through leaflets, newsletters, newspaper articles and our website. We rescue animals from abusive situations and we seek veterinary care for animals who need it. Animals in our care receive vaccinations at the appropriate ages, they are de-wormed, treated for flea and tick infestation if necessary, fed, groomed, exercised, socialized and played with in order to provide them with as good a life as possible while they await a home. Adopted animals leave ARF with certificates for a free spay/neuter surgery. Help save a pet today.

ARF's GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE actually started in 1999, when founder, Terri, and her husband Perry came upon a very sick German Shepherd puppy being sold outside the Weyauwega Exotic Animal Fair for $20. Terri knew she could use the Wisconsin Dog Rescue listserv to contact a shepherd rescue, so she paid* for the sleepy little fellow and promised her husband the pup absolutely wouldn't be staying forever. (Terri had owned two GSDs in the past and knew how attached she became to the breed). Mit Liebe German Shepherd Rescue asked the couple to foster the pup for just two months, until they had room to take him in. Pistol (jokingly named because the worms, anemia, and the maggot living between the skin layers of his neck made him the most lethargic puppy ever) spent the rest of the summer sleeping at Perry's feet, or going for short walks at the dog park as he became healthier. Three weeks later, Terri was calling Mit Liebe back to say they HAD to adopt Pistol; he'd kicked in that Shepherd Charm and won the couple over.
After Terri became listowner for Wisconsin Dog Rescue, she decided volunteering for shelters and other rescues wasn't enough; she wanted to save the other "Pistols" out there, too. She filed the paperwork to become incorporated, followed closely by the 501c3 paperwork, and Arf's German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. was founded in March 2002.

AMHS is primarily funded through donation, fundraising activities and animal adoptions. Partial funding is provided by Polk County dog license fees. AHMS is dedicated to the protection of animals by providing information, education and shelter; encouraging adoptions; promoting responsible pet guardianship, and expanding the human/animal bond.

We're a relatively small facility usually housing ~15-20 cats and ~10 dogs. There are lots of wonderful things about our facility; two being that we tend to get a lot of smaller dogs and we almost always have kittens! Lots of the animals on our page are from private homes that have either privately rescued these animals or, due to extenuating circumstaces, can no longer keep them. We do not accept owner surrenders, but we are dedicated to trying to find all needy animals homes.

We are a dog and cat boarding kennel, pet supply store, and pet rescue. In 2000 we started saving dogs on the day they were to be put to sleep. On there final day we pick them up, bring them here. Then they are groomed, dewormed, given dhlp and bordetella, and then taken to the vet for rabies and any other vet care needed. After all that we give them lots of love and attention. Since we do this out of our bussiness, we are not concidered non-profit. So everything we do is at our cost which you can imagine gets very costly. Donations are greatly appreciated
