Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of all animals and end pet overpopulation through programs such as adoption, spay/neuter, and education of the public. We envision a community where all animals are treated humanely, all pets live in responsible, caring homes, and euthanasia is no longer a means of population control. We promote the well being of animals through providing foster homes, medical care, sustenance, socialization, and adoption services for dogs.

The Amarillo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amarillo SPCA), a nonprofit organization, is a small group of hard working individuals who volunteer their time and efforts to the welfare of animals in our community. In November of 2003, the opportunity presented itself for us to reopen in a building located at 800 W. 3rd.
The Amarillo SPCA rescues and provides veterinary care and adoption services for abandoned animals. We are a no-kill organization, which means we provide boarding and health care for each dog or cat until he or she is adopted.

Angel's rescue was founded by Betty Wiley. She became concerned by the plight of dogs abandoned at a local lake, and began feeding them. Eventually she was able to catch some of the dogs, and find homes for them. Here we are today. Most of our animals are either rescued lake dogs, or are rescued from local animal shelters when their time is running out. We frequently have puppies available for adoption as well.
