Twyla's Friends is a non-profit animal adoption organization. We pick up lost and/or abandoned animals, have their medical needs attended to, and look for a caring family to foster these precious dogs until we're able to place them in a permanent home.
Before placing an animal up for adoption, Twyla's Friends holds the dog for seven days, calls all area vets, and put up signs to alert an owner that their dog has been found.
We are about responsible placement of these rescued animals and about responsible pet ownership!

We are a full service vet clinic in Austin, TX. Although we are not a rescue group, we at times find ourselves in possession of a stray (usually brought in by a concerned client) or a neglected or unwanted pet. In these instances, we treat the animal medically (including testing for diseases and parasites, deworming, spaying/neutering and starting heartworm and flea/tick preventatives) and foster the animal until a suitable home can be found.
