Since inception, the Rescue Team has rescued, vaccinated, wormed, tested, spayed/neutered and adopted out over 1,350 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Our requirements are very strict and potential adopters are carefully screened. Most of these adoptable animals have been dumped, shot, sick, or abandoned at home sites. Good and loving homes are required.

The founders of "P.A.W.S. Around Wichita Falls" both own and operate pet sitting service companies in Wichita Falls, Texas. During our daily visits we often find stray dogs. Some we have kept safe and worked to help return them to their owners. Some we know were dumped and we have helped place them in a new home with a new family. Some of our dogs for adoption may be dogs that have come from a local shelter or Animal Control facility. Some may be courtesy postings from other caring citizens who have found a dog that they are fostering till it can find a loving home.

We have been taking in homeless Scotties, Westies and the occasional Cairn for 20 plus years. All the dogs we rescue are spayed or neutered, fully vetted and microchipped and then are fostered one on one with our foster caregivers who evaluate them and make sure they are temperamentally and physically sound before they are placed.

The animal over population problem in our area is a serious one. We work very hard to rescue animals from many different kinds of situations, and have seen a severe increase in the number of homeless pets following last year's hurricanes. We are at capacity now, and desperately need more volunteers who would be wiling to provide a temporary haven for the homeless and abandonded animals in our area
