Freckles' Friends Pet Shelter, Inc. was established in May of 2006 to raise funds to build a quality no-kill pet shelter. In the meantime, we care for abandoned pets in foster homes while we are aggressively promoting spay/neuter as the only solution to the huge pet overpopulation problem that we have in our area.

The Monroe County Animal Shelter is now the temporary home to many stay, abandoned, and unwanted animals. In 2004 we opened our doors to the people and animals of Monroe County. With our open door policy, we accept all cats and dogs that are without a home. After animals are turned over to us, our job begins. We work diligently to find loving permanent homes for our furry friends. We are located behind the Wal-Mart in Madisonville. Hours: Tues/Weds/Thurs 10am-5pm, Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 9am-4pm and Sunday 12pm-4pm. We are closed Mondays.
