Canine Shelter Rescue is a non-profit charity established in South Carolina. Our mission is to rescue dogs from shelters and adopt them into loving homes. All activities of Canine Shelter Rescue are donations by volunteers. We have no paid employees. Each of us have adopted at least one shelter dog; many have more than one. We know first hand the great rewards of opening the heart and the home to a shelter dog and our lives have been richly blessed for doing so. We sincerely want to share the opportunity for others to experience the profound lesson in forgiveness, share the gift of unconditional love, and witness first hand how truly appreciative these dogs are just to be a part of your life.

CAPCA was formed by a group of citizens who are dedicated to reducing the killing of animals due to indiscriminate breeding. We promote spay/neuter initiatives so that someday in the future, euthanasia will not be used as a means of population control for unwanted domesticated animals. We advocate the adoption and re-homing of adoptable animals. Our goals include 1)education of the benefits of altering companion animals, 2)creating an alliance with shelters in the Carolinas in order to rescue adoptable animals that may not be adoptable in a shelter environment, 3)providing safe haven for unwanted animals until a permanent home can be found. This includes providing all necessary medical care and altering every animal prior to adoption.

Operation C.A.R.E. (Carolina Animal Rescue Effort) is a non-profit, all volunteer animal welfare organization. Our mission is to minimize the need for euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets in local Carolina shelters by providing a low-cost spay/neuter option to people in the community and by providing temporary care for homeless animals until they can be placed in quality permanent homes. Our Rescue-Adoption Program focuses primarily on the rescue of animals from area shelters. However, we do attempt to help Good Samaritans in the community who have found homeless or abandoned animals who are destined for shelters. Donations make it possible for us to continue our efforts. We are solely supported by donations and adoption fees. Animals up for adoption through Operation C.A.R.E. have been fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Dogs have been tested for heartworms and cats have been tested for FeLV and FIV. These animals are cared for in foster homes where their personality and behavior can be assessed for the most appropriate permanent home.
