Multnomah Irish Setter Association

As originally proposed, the club was formed to foster interest in and promote the purebred Irish Setter and to encourage sportsmanlike competition between Setter owners; as well as to educate the public and owners concerning breed standards, training, breeding, care, exhibition, and field performance. The majority of the membership is Irish Setter owners, though not all, and the membership includes people from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho – people from all walks of life. From the outset, we have endeavored to have activities and programs that would reach most everyone; education about the breed, its strengths and weaknesses; health problems; breeding; field training; special events such as matches and fun trials; and pure fellowship with persons united by a common interest in Irish Setters. To foster such objectives, bi-monthly meetings and various activities are held for members and their guests interested in learning more and doing more with their Redheads.

New Beginnings SPCA

We are a non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible. We are a no-kill organization which means that we only euthanize for humane reasons (severe health reasons). Our animals are never euthanized simply because they are unwanted. We now do adoptions 7 days a week from noon to 5 PM (summer hours until 6PM). We use foster homes in addition to the pets being at our adoption center so they are not caged daily. All of our cats are combo tested plus they are already spayed/neutered and microchiped. Vaccinations will be at least started. All this is included in the adoption fee. A spay/neuter certificate is not needed.

Oregon Dachshund Rescue

Oregon Dachshund Rescue is a 501c3 registered non-profit organization. Our goal is to provide homes for unwanted, special needs, and abandoned dachshunds. We do not breed or sell dachshunds for profit. We understand there are many that want to offer a home to one of these rescue dachshunds, but there must be guidelines to follow to ensure the safety and future of each rescue. We at ODR save these dogs and place them in a loving and caring environment. We take great pride in matching wonderful dachshunds with wonderful people. We placed 178 dachshunds in 2004 alone.

Oregon Lab rescue

Oregon Lab Rescue (OLR) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to making a significant impact in purebred Labrador Retriever Rescue work. OLR primarily works as a referral service. Our volunteers are committed to providing this needed public service. The Lab Rescue Program is sometimes the last chance to prevent the needless destruction of Labrador Retrievers. The Labradors that pass through the rescue program are usually owner relinquished, strays, or refugees from a pound or shelter. Most of the dogs are young adults to seniors, with few puppies passing through. We strive for a better life for each of our animals and hope that you too will find a place in your heart for that special one.
