We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

Colony Cats are just that. These cats come from managed, feral colonies in central Ohio. The ones on this site need homes because they are too friendly, injured or young to be placed back in the wild to fend for themselves. All have been tested, vaccinated and spay/ neutered. We can't pass by a dog needing help, either. So the dogs you might see on our adoptable list need great homes, too. The dogs needing homes have been heartworm tested, spayed or neutered and vaccinated.

Columbus Dog Connection is a 501c3, limited admission dog rescue organization. We formed in 1998.
We are a network of dog enthusiasts who rescue all breeds of dogs and puppies. Our pooches are rescued from
abandonment/abuse situations and we assist shelters/humane societies by taking dogs from death row. Every dog that
leaves our care is spayed/neutered, including 8 week old pups. We believe that allowing a pup to leave our care not spayed/neutered
would perpetuate the problem we work so hard to overcome every day.

My husband and I started Corgi Rescue when we lived in the State of Washington. After we moved to Ohio, we decided to continue rescuing Corgis and Corgi mixes. We are both retired, have five Corgis of our own, and our goal is to make sure that no Corgi or Corgi mix is put to sleep, but has the promise of a good home. We love our dogs and want the absolute best for them.
