Our mission is to save the lives of abused and unwanted American Eskimo dogs in the St. Louis area. We are a group of dedicated volunteers, working together for the benefit of helpless and homeless Eskies. Our program is funded by donations and adoption fees. Our volunteers spend endless hours of rescue work which involves transporting, fostering, and networking to save American Eskimo lives.

IMPACT for Animals was created in 1995 to meet the ever-increasing needs of homeless or soon to be homeless cats & dogs in the St. Louis area. We also strive to meet the medical and psychological needs of animals who have suffered abuse or neglect by negligent owners. All of our rescued animals receive appropriate veterinarian care. Originally, we started out as Trixie's Angels Chihuahua & Friends in October of 2003. Since then, we've been through several changes and have settled on using the umbrella name of Trixie's Angels Rescues and then the sub-rescues listed above and on the pages of this website. Trixie's Angels Rescues is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and is licensed by the Department of Agriculture in the state of Missouri. We are a strictly foster-based rescue. We do not have a shelter facility.

German Shepherd Dog Rescue is a non-profit all-volunteer organization that rescues purebred German Shepherds, Beagles and other cute dogs, mixed breeds and purebreds of all sizes from area shelters. We spay or neuter all our dogs, check them for heartworm, worm them, bath them, give them all their shots, microchip them, treat them with flea and heartworm preventative and see to any other health concerns. Volunteers care for them in their home. When they go home with their new owners, our dogs also take with them a six-month supply of heartworm pills, a collar, training collar, leash, book on dog care, calendar and other information.

In 1983, in St. Francois County, Missouri, volunteers set up a small organization to rescue injured wild animals and transport them to appropriate wildlife rescue groups. Volunteers also responded to calls on abandoned, ill, and injured companion animals in need of veterinary care and homes. Some twenty years after these modest beginnings, the organization expanded into St. Louis to increase its adoption efforts. As we are new to this area, our name is not as well known. It refers not only to the organization's original site, but also honors the first advocate of compassion to animals, St. Francis of Assisi.

Our Shih Tzu can come from a variety of situations... We get dogs out of Shelters, owner turn-ins, dogs found running loose, dogs who are abandoned because of their owners death...etc. Rather than leave these dogs to die in a shelter, we take them in and address their needs. We will treat any medical condition the dog has. Then we spay and/or neuter every dog (no exceptions), bring him or her current on all shots, and begin it on heartworm and flea protection. The dog is bathed, groomed, and put into a foster home for evaluation. Each dog stays in their foster home until they are adopted.
