Who We Are:
Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue (MWCR) is a registered non-profit charitable organization made up of volunteers who are dedicated to the safety and welfare of purebred rough and smooth Collies. Click here to see the different types of Collie Coats and Colors.
The purpose of MWCR is to rescue as many unwanted Collies as we possibly can. We assess their adoptability and place them into loving homes. We try to make the best possible match between dog and new family.
Due to our limited number of foster homes, only purebred rough and smooth Collies will be accepted into MWCR.

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

The main goal of our organization is an all volunteer effort to rescue,
rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxer dogs within Minnesota. Our mission includes hands-on rescue, as well as education. When a dog comes into our rescue program they are examined by our vet, brought up to date on vaccines, heart worm tested, (placed on heart worm preventive medication) and fecal tested. All dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We evaluate each Boxer's personality and temperament, so he/she can be placed in the best
home suited for that dog.
We are a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit Organization.
