CRASH's LANDING is a NON-PROFIT, no-kill Cat Rescue & Placement Center. As we are owned and operated by a veterinarian, all cats in our custody will have been Feline Leukemia tested, vaccinated for Rabies, Feline Distemper/Calicivirus/Rhinotracheitis and Feline Leukemia and will have been spayed and/or neutered (if old enough). Cats have been dewormed and flea-treated as well. We are staffed by diligent, hard-working, cat-loving, non-paid volunteers who do this simply becasue they love our feline friends. Without their tireless efforts, CRASH's LANDING would not exist! Our mission is to take abandoned, unwanted STRAY kitties off the streets and place them into loving, permanent homes.

We do not have a shelter. Our whole organization is made up of volunteer foster homes. We have dogs in foster homes all over the state. So...it is not possible to go to a "shelter" to view all our dogs. We ask that you submit an application first, and once you are approved to adopt, we will suggest a few dogs and make arrangements for you to meet them. We do not place dogs in homes that we do not believe will work out..... so please respect our advice.

Motor City Ferrets, formally established in April 2000, is a private, no-kill shelter for homeless ferrets. We operate in our home in Hazel Park. Our “staff” (ha) consists of two busy working people, Nanci & Alex. We can tend to up to 60 ferrets at one time, but our most comfortable level is perhaps 35 or less, depending on how many groups/individuals make up the overall number. We moved into our first home in December 2003 and are in the midst of remodeling...with our schedules we plan to be in the midst of the remodeling for some months/years/decades/eons to come (oh the frustration – HA)! We are a private rescue and therefore receive no formal funding from state agencies or animal welfare organizations. We fund the rescue out of our personal incomes and offset some of the costs with adoption fees, boarding fees, the sale of ferret supplies and generous donations.
