Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue Network - HeartlandWe are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need. We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between. Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle. Chanute Animal ShelterThe Chanute Animal Control Department is a service provided by the City of Chanute, Kansas. The department is staffed by Officer Bill Penner, and is dedicated to animal safety and health, public safety, and owner education. The Animal Shelter is usually open between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We are open one Saturday per month, and one evening per week on a rotating basis. PALS Animal RescuePALS is an organization of volunteers who place animals into qualified homes. Most of the animals are rescued from the WICHITA ANIMAL SHELTER. Many of these animals would have been euthanized without help from PALS. We, also, help a limited number of animals from private individuals who, due to hardships, can no longer care for their pets. PALS works mainly with adult dogs, but on occasion will have puppies and other animals. We handle both pure breed and mixed breed dogs. Heart Reach For Animals Sanctuary, Rehabilitation & AdoptionWe are a loving, Lic., No-Kill, Non-Profit animal shelter, and educational animal welfare organization.
