ALL4U is a rescue established to help animals in need. We also work with families having trouble with their pet to keep the pet and family unit together. All of our animals are spay/neutered before adoption unless health or size prohibits. If that is the case, those animals are adopted with a spay/neuter contract.
A.L.L.4U.-DOGS adopts to Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois residents only.

The BCA Rescue Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization with IRS 501(c)3 status. We have more than 100 active volunteers nationwide who love the Bulldog breed and are dedicated to its continued well-being. The volunteers found new homes for over 800 Bulldogs in 2004. Many thousands of dollars were spent to provide medical care, food, shelter, and training while the rescued Bulldogs were awaiting adoption. Here in the Illinois and Wisconsin area, we have a group of dedicated volunteers who love the bulldog breed and are willing to spend their free time with rescue and adoption.

Secondhand Shelties, Ltd. is a not-for-profit Chicagoland area breed rescue for Shetland Sheepdogs ("Shelties"). Formed and incorporated in the State of Illinois in 1995, Secondhand Shelties is licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Secondhand Shelties helps find new homes for abandoned, orphaned, and unwanted shelties. We are not dog breeders nor are we members of any breed club. Although we receive referrals for both adoptions and owner give-ups from breeders and clubs, our rescue functions as a corporation and separate entity from any club or rescue. We do not exchange dogs with other rescues. Once a sheltie is in our program, the dog stays with us until the dog is adopted - regardless of the time it may take to find the "perfect home" for that particular dog. Our "Secondhand Shelties" come from many backgrounds. Approximately half of the shelties are given up by their owners. The other half come from animal control facilities, shelters or are found wandering the streets. Everyone involved with Secondhand Shelties volunteers their services, their homes, and their time because of their love for this breed. All foster homes are licensed to insure the best for each and every one of our dogs. Because all our shelties live in foster homes while awaiting adoption, they are able to be seen in a normal home environment. Everything medically necessary is done in order for our dogs to be in good, healthy adoptable condition prior to showing them to potential adopters, regardless of the cost. All dogs in the care of Secondhand Shelties are checked by a veterinarian upon entry into our rescue program. Vaccinations, neutering, dentals and any other needed medical procedures are done prior to adoption. Normally we have adult shelties of various ages available for adoption. On rare occasions we have dogs under 1 year of age. Because we are not breeders, we rarely have puppies. Please call for an adoption application if you'd like to open your heart and home to a wonderful, loving Secondhand Sheltie who needs you. If calling outside the 630, 708, 847 or 815 area code we will return your call collect. You can also request an application by e-mail, but be sure to include your name, home address, city/state and telephone number. Please have patience if you leave us a message or send an e-mail. All members of our rescue work full time jobs while also caring for their own pets as well as foster dogs. Because of this, we may take a day or two to return your call or e-mail.

Illinois Birddog Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to saving, transporting, vetting, fostering, and adopting homeless American Field-bred English Pointers and English Setters - a group of canines commonly known as BIRDDOGS. We are funded solely from adoption fees and donations. Since our slow beginning in October of 2001, we have placed close to 500 dogs and puppies.
Most of our rescue dogs are in foster care in the Chicagoland area with a wonderful group of volunteers who dedicate their free time and energy to help the dogs get ready for their forever homes. While in foster care, the rescues live in a home and are socialized with other dogs, people, children, and cat tested if possible. To assure that they will make good house pets, our rescues are also taught basic manners, are housebroken and cage trained. Unfortunately many of the rescues that come in have been abused or are in poor health. We take care of any medical issues and give these dogs lots of TLC.
On occasion we test the dogs hunting instinct using planted pigeons or quail to see if they have any scent pointing ability. Seeing one of our birddogs pointing a bird by scent alone is a beautiful thing. We have successfully adopted out our dogs to hunters as long as they are spoiled rotten house pets first.

The Mercer County Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization. We are supported entirely by donations and a small fee charged to the towns of Mercer County to pick up and care for unwanted, stray, and abandoned animals. We are a open admission Shelter .That is a county operation . With limit kennel space... We have 6 inside outside runs and 5 extra inside runs in the back for isolation for dogs and 10 available spaces for cats. With that said we hold a wonderful record of not having to euth any adoptable animal that has come through our doors for 2 years now!!! With the hard work of the staff and the many rescues we work with we have also been able to help out other neighboring shelters absorbing some of their animals also. We also have in place a wonderful fostering program. We rotate over a 100 animals a month through our small doors each and everyone becoming part of our hearts.

We are a Rescue which means we physically go and save lives. Hope pulls animals on their last day of life from animal control facilities that still use the inhumanne gas chamber to put to death homeless pets. We lobby our goverment to ban the use of such chambers for they are cruel. For anyone who does not understand how a gas chamber works we can tell you that they do not die immediately, they do not die peacefully, they die thrown together with cats, dogs, puppies all trying to escape the chamber and breath. It is much like being suffocated. Please help, write your congressman, write your mayor, be active in this and help us to stop the cruelty.

A & S Rescue is a small rescue group dedicated to finding permanent and loving homes for American Staffordshire Terriers ("AmStaffs") and American Pit Bull Terriers ("Pit Bulls"). Prior to placement, all dogs are spayed and /or neutered and up to date on necessary vaccinations relevant to the dog's age. When possible, our dogs live in foster homes with foster families, where volunteers evaluate the dog's temperment, learn their behavioral quirks and work on basic obedience and manners. We endeavor to place each AmStaff and Pit Bull into a home best-suited for each individual dog. We carefully screen all applicants; a home visit and reference checks are required to ensure that the adoption is a good match- one that provides a permanent and loving home for the dog! Further, we maintain contact with our adoptive families and encourage them to contact us with any questions or concerns. If for ANY reason the Rescue AmStaff or Pit Bull is not working out in its new home, we require the dog to be returned to us as stated in our adoption contract. Upon return, we will reevaluate the dog and possibly consider placement into a different, more suitable home. Under no circumstances will we place our Rescue AmStaffs or Pit Bulls into homes where the dog will be subjected to dog fighting. We are strongly opposed to all forms of dog fighting and similar forms of animal abuse.
