Humanitarians of Florida, Inc. is an all-volunteer non-profit, 501(c)(3), humane organization dedicated to relieving the suffering of animals. We do this primarily through direct help programs. Our members work entirely without salary. Our first priority is to help animals in Citrus County, and maintain our programs. However, there are many rural areas in Florida which have little or no help for animals. We are chartered to go into those areas and do so when our funds permit. We actively seek to find "forever homes" for displaced pets.

We are the Jacksonville Sheltie Rescue Inc. On this site I am going to show you lost or found and make people aware of the available rescued shelties in the Jacksonville, FL area. Generally people think Shelties NEVER get in dire straits. Let me tell you folks! We rescued over 29 of those wonderful dogs last year, just in our city. From the Shelters, from the streets, and from people who just didn't want to bothered with a dog anymore. Tis sad the state of affairs the canine world is in!

Kamp Kritter is a no-kill animal shelter in Jacksonville, Florida. We participate in the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and adoption of abandoned, injured and homeless dogs. Without this kind of care many of these dogs face abuse and abandonment but here at the Kamp we offer a loving, homelike environment for the dogs to live in before adoption. Dogs who have been mistreated sometimes find the first safe environment they have ever known and the dogs that wander into our lives find a caring, healthy place to spend their time until adoption. At the shelter, dogs learn how to interact with humans and other dogs under the watchful eye of Head Kritter Sue Towler and other dedicated volunteers and colleagues.
