Mid Florida Sheltie Rescue
Save a Sheltie The goal of Sheltie Rescue of Central Fl is to help Shetland Sheepdogs who turn up in shelters, are found lost on the street, are no longer wanted by their owners, or whose owners can no longer care for them. We seek to prevent the euthanasia of any Shelties. To avoid this, we place Shelties found in shelters or elsewhere into foster homes where they are cared for as a member of the family. They are then more likely to be successful when the right adopting family is found, because they are accustomed to a home environment rather than a kennel environment.

A small but enthusiastic group of dog owners started Manatee Citizens for Off Leash Areas. We realized that our illegal off leash areas to walk were being developed or we were being chased off by non-animal loving walkers in the parks.

Adopt A Stray is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in South Florida, founded by a small group of experienced volunteers. Since we do not yet have a shelter we operate as a foster care program, working to deal with the stray overpopulation by taking unwanted and unloved dogs and cats off the streets. Our foster homes provide temporary safe refuge until they are placed in a permanent loving home. Adopt A Stray relies exclusively on private donations to provide food and medical care, including the spay/neuter of adoptable pets and feral cats. There are no administration fees or professional fund-raisers to pay. 100% of all donations go directly to the care of our animals

We are a foster care adoption rescue group. Our rescues were either homeless or abandoned animals and come from all over the country. Unlike many other state, county, city and local groups we are not funded thru government agencies therefore we can take in animals both locally and outside our area. We have no boundaries. Many of our members are active and retired military personnel .After serving in many countries, especially in third world countries, the organization has made a difference in the lives of not only the animals, but the local people who have asked for help and who lives are no better than the homeless animals rescued. All Volunteers are now HSUS D.A.R.T CERTIFIED AND/OR E.A.R.S CERTIFIED. All our cats and dogs are adopted under our parent Organization "Adopt a Rescue Kitty Inc.
