The mission of T.A.I.L.S. is to serve the community as a charitable organization that promotes spay/neutering of animals and provides financial support to humane organizations and individuals in pursuit of this goal. We are dedicated to vigorously promoting and educating the community about the importance of spay/neuter to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the killing of unwanted dogs, cats, and other animals.

Westport Animal Control is a no-kill shelter. The shelter is NOT associated with the Connecticut Humane Society, but is a division of the Westport Police Deptment and is town owned and run.The shelter is run by two Animal Control Officers, and volenteers who walk and socialize the dogs.

Save Our Strays, Inc. is a non profit animal welfare organization that was founded by Dr. Joan Poster over 10 years ago. We are committed to the welfare of all the animals in our care and community. Our goal is to rescue and place as many previously abandoned pets in loving permanent homes. Our facility operates out of Poster Animal Hospital which is located in Westport, CT. Dr. Poster has a "hands-on" commitment to every one of our animals. Our lucky rescuees receive the best of medical care along with lots of love and care from Dr. Poster's wonderful compassionate staff along with our cadre of dedicated volunteers!
