Hakuna Matata RescueHAKUNA MATATA RESCUE AND SANCTUARY HAS COMPLETED THE NEW 100 FEET BY 60 FEET HABITAT. THE FLOWERS ARE BLOOMING AND THE WEEPING WILLOWS ARE GROWING AND THE 30 BY 30 GRASS PLAY AREA IS LOOKING GOOD. THE DOGS ARE SO CURIOUS TO WHY THEY CANT GO IN-----SOON THEY CAN EXPLORE THE NEW FUN AREA. ALL THE BULBS CAME UP AND ITS HOLLYHOCK AND ROSE HEAVEN AT THE ENTRANCE TO H.M.R. MANY WONDERFUL HOMES HAVE BEEN FOUND FOR MANY WONDERFUL DOGS SINCE JANUARY, 2004 AND PAACO, THE 35 YEAR OLD QUARTER HORSE-APPY IS AT HOME AND HAVING A GREAT TIME WITH HIS HORSE PALS. Rehabilitation may be medical or behavioral, and is often both. Although we give precedence to senior and special needs dogs, we sometimes have younger dogs available for adoption that only needed short-term intensive care. On an early spring morning in 1998 Cobra Farm owner Gary Biszantz met Thoroughbred retirement advocate Priscilla Clark at the gate of an abandoned horse farm situated in the mountain valley of Tehachapi, California. He had a dream to create a sanctuary for retiring racehorses in the memory of his late father, Harry, who was also an ardent horseman. She had endured many years of caring for unwanted Thoroughbreds at her own small, overburdened farm. The vacant farm before them would need much work, but together they shared a vision of what could be. When the farm was purchased, enthusiastic help arrived from every corner of the racing world. New barns, fences and training facilities were built, and today the Harry A. Biszantz Memorial Center for Thoroughbred Retirement has grown to care for a constant population of 80 horses in rehabilitation, retraining, or comfortable retirement.
