The Rescue Train is a 501c3, non profit dog and cat rescue dedicated to keeping animals off the streets and out of the city shelters of Los Angeles, California. By getting to know our rescues we able to match them up with the right families and set them up for successful adoptions. Many of our dogs have had extensive obedience training in our "Trained for Life" dog training program. It is our hope to bring great joy to both people and animals and a life time companionship.

San Diego Special Needs Rescue is dedicated to rescuing small dogs from life-threatening situations. All of our dogs were either in danger of being euthanized in animal shelters, neglected or abused, or taken from the public (when space permits) so they are not bounced around to different homes or collected and sold to research labs by "bunchers."

We are a small, no-kill, Tax Exempt REPTILE & Exotic Bird Rescue. We receive animals from Sheriff & Fire Dept. Personnel, Veterinarians, BLM, Fish & Game employees and County Animal Control Officers. Some of these animals have been hit by cars or off-road vehicles, maliciously used for target practice, munched by dogs or cats and some have simply been abused or released inhumanely by irresponsible owners. Many of these unfortunate creatures are emaciated from starvation or dehydration, often diseased and, occasionally downright dangerous to handle.

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

Our Mission Statement
To act as a shepherd for Saint Bernard dogs and puppies that are without suitable caretakers and are in need of help.
To shelter the homeless; to care for and find homes for the unwanted, abandoned, neglected and abused.
To feed the hungry; to provide medical services to the sick, injured and lame; to assist in the rescue of those subjected to conditions hazardous to their well-being or to confinement in government or private shelter, who without intervention would be needlessly euthanized.
To provide for the humane disposition of those not sound in mind, body or temperament; to educate the public as to the characteristics of, and proper care for, the breed so as to promote compatible, loving, lasting home/family placements.
They Call Them Saints For a Reason.
