Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc., started in the beginning of 1998. We have grown from our initial seven members to over 120 people who work throughout southern California to assist Labrador Retrievers in need. We are nonprofit, and recognized under the Internal Revenue Code 501(c)3 as a charitable, tax exempt organization. All the money that we earn goes toward our mission of rehoming Labrador Retrievers, and educating the public about these wonderful dogs.

Founded by Ursula Sauthier out of a love for the breed and fierce determination to aid homeless boxers in the Los Angeles area, the primary goal of Boxer Rescue Los Angeles has always been to save dogs being abandoned by owners or facing execution in shelters. While awaiting placement in a new home, the dogs are cared for, given needed medical attention and spayed or neutered prior to placement. The rescue screens applicants so dog and new guardian are appropriately matched, educates potential and existing boxer guardians about the breed and its requirements, and works through education and spay/neuter requirement of all dogs placed to end pet overpopulation

The Animal Advocacy and Relief Foundation (DBA: Pooch Heaven)is a registered non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray dogs. The foundation was formed by a dedicated group of individuals, who, at their own expense, have been searching the streets of Los Angeles for stray dogs and unwanted pets for several years. Their loose network of dog rescuers have come together under the umbrella of the Animal Advocacy and Relief Foundation, which was made possible by the generous donations of several benefactors who have committed to continued support of our mission , both in time and money. The foundation asks that you also show your support for their heroic efforts and contribute to the cause. 6) Pay an adoption fee of $175.00 for adult dogs and $225.00 for puppies (Includes vaccinations and cost of getting the doggie altered.)

Since its inception, New Leash On Life has been responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing and placing over 3,000 dogs, providing free educational seminars at local shelters, setting shelter rescue priorities on "hard to place" animals requiring medical or special care, founding the P.E.T.’s program (Pet Educational Trainers) and co-founding Partners for Life which saved hundreds at the East Valley Animal Shelter. Finally in March of 2002, a lease was signed on thirteen acres in the Santa Clarita Valley for our E.R.A Center (Education, Rehabilitation and Adoption) which serves as a safe haven for many companion animals and a learning resource for children and adults facilitating New Leash On Life’s dream of making Los Angeles a no-kill city.
