Pet Orphans Of Southern California is one of the oldest active humane organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area with a private shelter. At our shelter facility located in Van Nuys, California, an average of 60 dogs and 30 cats are housed until they can be placed with new guardians. Pet Orphans has facilitated adoptions for thousands of cats and dogs since our inception in 1973. The majority of the dogs and cats at Pet Orphans have been transferred from local city and county shelters and are anxiously awaiting a new home.

Lost and abandoned animals have a second chance at a good life– thanks to the Pet Project Foundation and the San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter. The mission of the Pet Project Foundation is “to enhance the quality of life of all companion animals in a pro-humane manner through compassion, responsibility, education and service. Nowhere is this mission better exemplified than through our ongoing support of the shelter. This special shelter provides food, housing, exercise, medical care, and love for homeless animals until they are reunited with their owners or permanent, loving homes are found.

Pet Stop Rescue is a non-profit animal welfare orgainization dedicated to placing homeless and displaced pets. Based in Ventura County, PSR focuses on improving and protecting the lives of animals. We rescue animals from kill shelters, dangerous home situations as well remote locations where their families have dumped them. We also help families who find them in the difficult situation of needing to rehome their pet. Most of our animals are in foster homes until 'lifelong' homes can be found for them. Our volunteer fosters help us to socialize, train and rehabilitate these wonderful animals so that they can be better members of your family once placed.
