North Florida Scottish Terrier Rescue. is a new group dedicated to helping rescue Scottish Terriers. We are located in North Florida but also service South Georgia. We prefer our applicants to also be local to this area. However, we realize that this is not always possible. If you are approved for adoption of one of our Scotties you will be required to travel here to pick up your Scottie. WE DO NOT SHIP OUR SCOTTIES.

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

First Coast Rabbit Rescue will accept into its protection any rabbit that has been mistreated or abandoned. The organization does not deny shelter because of disability or disease. All rabbits, after being nursed into optimum health by knowledgeable volunteers and when necessary local vets, are spayed and neutered before being placed up for adoption. FCRR volunteers screen all adopting families to ensure these rabbits will be placed in a secure and loving home. First Coast Rabbit Rescue is not a shelter; it is solely reliant upon the efforts of its volunteers. The rabbits do not live in kennels, but in the loving homes of foster families who see to it that the animals are litter box trained, fed and well cared for, with expenses coming more often than not from their own pockets. For these reasons there is a strict policy regarding our acceptance of rabbits. When bunnies run out of time at local animal shelters, FCRR volunteers take those bunnies. FCRR also accepts bunnies that are rescued by individuals who witnessed their abuse. If you wish to dispose of your companion rabbit simply because it has become an inconvenience, FCRR can provide information to help you find a new home for your rabbit. In cases of extreme emergencies and only if a foster family is open to another rabbit, FCRR will accept rabbits from their owners. In such cases the owners are expected to provide the cage, toys, and other items belonging to the rabbit as well as the funds necessary to have the rabbit spayed or neutered if she is not already. The cost is around $200 per bunny. Due to the impact of so many uwanted and homeless bunnies in the Jacksonville/First Coast area we are unable to accept owner relinquish rabbits at this time. Jacksonville Animal Care and Control will be able to accept your rabbit if you cannot find him/her a home however they are a kil facility and due to the recent tragedy of the Jacksonville Humane Society they may not be able to hold your rabbit for a lengthy period of time. If you feel you need to part ways with your pet due to behavior issues, please try www.rabbit.org for tips on how to manage unwanted rabbit behavior.

Small Dog Rescue
We are a rescue for small dogs that need to find their forever home. We only house two or three at a time so we can give them a homestyle environment without being crated, except at night and when we are away. They learn to live in a household where they are socialized with other animals and a variety of people. Our rescue visitors are treated like one of the family. When they are adopted out, they are ready for their new family life.

We are the Jacksonville Sheltie Rescue Inc. On this site I am going to show you lost or found and make people aware of the available rescued shelties in the Jacksonville, FL area. Generally people think Shelties NEVER get in dire straits. Let me tell you folks! We rescued over 29 of those wonderful dogs last year, just in our city. From the Shelters, from the streets, and from people who just didn't want to bothered with a dog anymore. Tis sad the state of affairs the canine world is in!

We are a full service veterinary hospital that is committed to helping as many sick and injured animals as we can through our Good Samaritan program. Generally, animals are brought to us by people ("Good Sams") who find them and we fix them up and adopt them out when they are healthy. All the animals we adopt out are up to date on their vaccines, have negative fecal exams, are dewormed and are flea-free. Our adoption fees are between $45 and $150 depending on the age, species and breed. We require that all pets we adopt out be spayed or neutered prior to adoption if they are old enough or that a deposit be left to ensure they will be spayed/neutered at the appropriate age. We get a lot of kittens coming through our doors and we don't always have time to list them individually so feel free to call us and check on who's up for adoption.
