Tug Valley Veterinary ClinicTug Valley Veterinary Clinic has been located in Williamson, WV, for 19 years. There is no animal shelter and no dog pound in Mingo County, of which Williamson is the county seat. We have a tremendous problem with stray dogs and cats. As a consequence we take in between 40 and 100 strays every year. We acquire our adoptees in various ways. Most commonly, someone leaves a cardboard box full of kittens or puppies in front of our door. Others are brought in by good Samaritans who bring in injured pets, usually found in or alongside a road. We have taken in many pets that had treatable diseases or injuries, but the owner was unable or unwilling to pay for treatment. I have 15 dogs who live with me, and I simply have reached my limit.
