Second Chance Humane SocietySecond Chance Humane Society is a 501c3 non profit all volunteer organization created to help the many abandoned pets (primarily dogs and cats) in our area find shelter and new forever homes. Most of our animals have been found by good Samaritans who bring them to us, or from pet owners who need to surrender their pets for various reasons. Each animal in our care receives thorough vet examinations and any vet services needed to ensure good health. Each is also evaluated for temperament to help us determine the best possible home situation and if any behavior modification and/or training is needed prior to adoption. The majority of our funding is obtained through adoption fees and donations. Second Chance Pet AdoptionSecond Chance Pet Adoption founded in 1995, is a not-for-profit, all volunteer rescue and foster home organization serving the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and surrounds. We foster stray, abandoned, sick, or injured cats and kittens primarily. All animals are given routine veterinary care or any emergency care and then placed in private foster homes. Most of our animals are fostered for two weeks before they are available for adoption. This gives us a chance to observe the cat's personality and health.
