Animal Rescue Foundation of SE Pennsylvania, IncThe Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania (ARF SEPA) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is solely dedicated to the welfare of companion pets here in southeastern Pennsylvania. ARF volunteers regularly patrol public shelters looking for adoptable pets that may be euthanized due to lack of kennel space. Animal Rescue Foundation, IncARF is a small group of concerned individuals that provide care and housing for abandoned or unwanted animals in Lafayette Parish and the surrounding area. Space in our shelter facility is limited. We work to rescue abandoned and unwanted animals, obtaining necessary veterinary care and placing them in loving, responsible homes. We DO NOT euthanize adoptable animals. Over the last few years we have placed more than 300 dogs and cats into loving homes. All animals in our care are current on vaccinations. Dogs are screened for heartworm disease and put on heartworm preventative. Cats are tested (and inoculated against) Feline Leukemia. Most animals we place are already neutered. If the animal is too young for the procedure we will arrange with the new owners to pay for all or a part of the operation. Also, low-income families (under $30,000) qualify for a discount spay/neuter certificate from Lafayette area vets. ALL ANIMALS WE PLACE MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED. Animal Rescue FundSome ARF Facts: * ARF was founded in 1998 out of a profound love and respect for animals and a desire to end needless death and suffering. * ARF is a "no kill" shelter meaning that every healthy, adoptable animal is guaranteed a home. We do not euthanize because of age, breed, or illness. Animals are given any medical care needed- treated for heartworm, broken legs repaired, and all are spayed or neutered. * The ARF Animal House provides shelter to rescued animals until suitable homes can be found. Some animals have been at ARF 2 years before getting a home. During their stay at ARF, animals aren't kept in crates or kennels. Each animal is paired with similar sized animals and share a room equipped with a toddler bed, toys, and most have a window to look out.
