P. A. L. S. Pet Adoption and Lifecare SocietyFounded 1996 by Dr. Jacqueline Metzler, the Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society received non-profit status in January 2000. Since then, we have placed hundreds of cats and dogs into loving homes every year. Our animals are temporarily loved and cared for in foster homes until permanent homes can be found. All of our cats are FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise noted under special needs. They are adopted out free of parasites, including fleas and internal parasites. They have also had all vaccines for which they are eligible. P.A.W.S (Pet Adoption Welfare Service)P.A.W.S. is a non-profit adoption service designed to help find homes for animals in need either medically or otherwise. These animals come to us as strays, orphans and sadly, sometimes as unwanted pets. Any animal over 6 months old is automatically neutered if it has not already been done, before it is placed for adoption. All required vaccines are brought up to date. All animals in the P.A.W.S. program are kept until they find homes. P.A.W.S. (Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society)"Paws"Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society" adoption center is open from 1:00- 5:00 Monday through Saturday. You are welcome to drop in to visit our animals. We have adoption days most Saturdays at PetsMart,1821 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey, La We have some of our cats at Petsmart seven days a week. Applications are welcome through the web-site or in person. If you need information about any of our animals call 504 392-1601.If we don't answer leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. We are currently working with the SPCA doing vouchers for spay-neuter. Dogs $20.00 and Cats $10.00. Residents of Plaquemines Parish. & St Bernard automatically quality. A spay-neuter van is brought to Plaquemines Parish every few months to spay and neuter feral and stray cats from our parish.
