The McKean County S.P.C.A. is an organization committed to loving and caring for homeless, abused or neglected animals. Our organization is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. We investigate acts of animal cruelty and neglect in all of McKean County, and operate an animal shelter. We provide food, water and shelter to stray, unwanted or neglected animals. In addition, our shelter staff offers our animals the greatest gift of all - love - and the chance to find a loving home.

We are a very small, family-run group specializing in placing maine coon mixes into approved homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered prior to placement if they are over 6 months old. They are FeLuk/FIV tested and up-to-date on shots. Additionally the cats have been seen by a vet and treated for fleas, ear mites, etc. as necessary.

The purpose of PINS is to prevent cruelty to animals, to relieve the suffering of animals, to promote the ideal that all animals within county limits are provided for in a safe and healthy manner, and to advance humane education. PINS has come a long way in just over four years. We raised enough money to put an addition on the shelter and to renovate the entire facility in our first two years of existence. The shelter is now a facility where Meade County residents can recover pets that were lost or adopt a new pet. You can read more about this at the Meade County Animal Shelter link.

Meadow Gates is a nonprofit sanctuary established to assist local animal-control, animal welfare groups, and wildlife officers in the temporary housing of farm animals in emergency situations. We welcome these organizations to our sanctuary whenever the need arises.
Meadow Gates provides refuge to farm animals of the rural community who need sanctuary. We work with animal rescue groups to find new pet homes for these wonderful animals free from the threat of the slaughterhouse. Animals unavailable for adoption are retired to the sanctuary.
Meadow Gates does NOT accept dogs or cats at this time.
