We started by saving dogs from puppy mills and puppy mill auctions, taking the ones that were unwanted, to give them a chance at a loving home which they have never had. We also take in homeless dogs or dogs that are deemed not adoptable by shelters to give them a safe haven where they will receive medical care, nutrition and love until an approved home is found. They are rescued from situations ranging from the lack of care and supervision, starvation and abuse

Lycoming Animal Protection Society (LAPS) was founded in 1992 in Montoursville, Pennsylvania.During its brief history, many animals have been protected and adopted from this small, no-kill shelter. In time, LAPS became a non-profit organization. LAPS continues to be a haven for homeless felines and would like to eventually be able to offer assistance to other animal species, as well.

The new Reach Road shelter, completed in 1998, is the focal point of all SPCA services, most especially those of animal rescue and shelter. The Lyons Den Rescue commits itself to finding safe, loving homes for those animals that are in the shelter system. We will provide companions that are healthy and compatible for those persons meeting the requirements set forth in our adoption agreement. In order to address the pet overpopulation problem the Lyons Den Rescue also commits to having all animals spayed or neutered before placement unless a spay/neuter contract is in place (only for puppies too young to have a spay/neuter). Also, the Lyons Den Rescue will provide educational materials to the community at large to make persons aware of this problem.

We are an organization that works with stray & feral cats in Greene County, IN. We have created the "Stray Cat Paradise" which is a safe haven for stray cats and feral cats that for some reason can no longer be with their colony. The cats who live here are offered a different life than they had on the street because they are warm in winter and cool in summer. They have a home like setting with resin furniture, soft beds, plenty of toys , food ,water, and lots of LOVE & ATTENTION. Stray Cat Paradise was started in August of 2002. We also rescue and adopt out many cats and kittens to loving, responsible and permanent homes
