Lake Lanier Humane League is a network of foster homes and caring volunteers who work together in an effort to place rescue animals into loving, permanent homes. It is only with the support of the community and the veterinarians we work with that we are able to work as a rescue group. Our goal is to help as many abused, misplaced, abandoned and neglected animals that still have so much to offer if just given a second opportunity and find them forever homes

We are Volunteers trying to make a difference one pet at a time. Lake Norman Animal Rescue is a 501-c-3 organization. Our mission is to rescue adoptable pets in shelters during their last hours. We transport pets from local shelters to other rescues. We list pets that are still in shelters that are awaiting rescue. Please read each pets profile carefully as some ask you to contact various shelters directly.

Founded in 1999, we are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation supported entirely by contributions and staffed by a small number of volunteers with BIG hearts. We have a Georgia Dept. of Agriculture Shelter License. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless cats and dogs and educating the public to be responsible pet owners with emphasis on spay/neuter of all companion animals. If you live in the area, we need foster homes desperately. Because we are a "no-kill" rescue, we are unable to rescue additional animals until we find homes for the ones we already have, as we lack qualified foster homes.

Lake Shore works with the general public, animal shelters, and animal care and control agencies to accept dogs and cats for sheltering and adoption. We work with sanctuaries for the lifetime care those companion animals for whom we cannot find suitable homes.
Currently, Lake Shore is serving on the board of the Chicago Animal Shelter Alliance, CASA, comprised of many Chicago shelters working together to improve the lives of companion animals through accelerated adoption efforts.
Adoption hours are Saturdays from 12 to 3pm. Appointments outside these hours can be made with Ann Markham, shelter director, at 312 409 1162.

Walworth County Humane Society was accepted by the state of Wisconsin as a non-profit, tax exempt organization in November of 1978. In 1985 the name was changed to Lakeland Animal Welfare Society (LAWS).
Lakeland Animal Shelter is owned and operated by Lakeland Animal Welfare Society. It is centrally located three miles south of Elkhorn, WI. on highway 67, and it is the only animal shelter in Walworth County. Its doors are open to the public six days a week except on legal holidays. The shelter is staffed by dedicated and trained employees. Volunteers also play a crucial role in meeting many of the shelter's special care needs.
A board of directors, elected by LAWS members, establishes the policies of the Society and the operation guidelines for Lakeland Animal Shelter.
At LAWS it is our goal to prevent cruel treatment to animals. We feel it is our job to educate the public on the needs of pets, to help enforce laws pertaining to animal welfare and to humanely end the suffering of any animal for which a proper home cannot be found.
