Jethro's Place Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1999. We realized there was a real need for an organization that was dedicated to the no-kill movement, but also an organization willing to advocate on behalf of the voiceless. It's been a difficult journey at times, but always rewarding. Jethro's Place is a leader in the movement to end the sale of homeless pets to Research Dealers by Michigan Shelters and Pounds. Jethro's Place also is a strong voice for ending pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.

The majority of dogs taken in by JJDR come to us through Los Angles City and County shelters. They were either picked up as strays running the streets of Southern California or were dumped at the shelter by uncaring owners. Unfortunately, the need for rescue far exceeds the space available, and it’s only the lucky few who make it into foster care. When a dog is brought into rescue they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, checked over by a veterinarian, and microchipped. They are then placed in an evaluators home where they are temperament tested and quarantined for a minimum of two weeks. After evaluation they are placed up for adoption and into a foster home if one is available. While being fostered our dogs are often given basic obedience training and crate training. They are also undergo further temperament and personality evaluation If you are interested in adopting a Jindo, please visit us at www.jindo-dog-rescue.org

The Jindo Project is a dog rescue organization that is dedicated to the Rescue and Education of the breed. The Jindo is typically mislabeled in shelters which usually does't pass the facilities temperament test and is put down very quickly. Recently shelters have been more aware of the breed and with better contact with shelters, we are getting notified more often to get the opportunity to rescue the Jindo but not nearly often enough. With your help we can all make a difference.
