Shelter Buddies is dedicated to improving the health, welfare, and adoptability of shelter pets, and to building a no-kill community. Shelter Buddies is an all volunteer organization which provides vaccines, medications, and emergency veterinary care for shelter animals. We foster shelter animals in our homes, and we board them at vet clinics or boarding kennels when we have no space in our homes.

Whiskerville is a 501c3 nonprofit animal welfare organization formed in February of 2000. Our primary goals are to work toward eliminating the needless suffering of stray domestic animals by rescuing them off the streets, providing necessary healthcare, and placing them in loving and responsible homes through our active adoption program. In addition, we strive to educate the public to vaccinate, spay, and neuter domestic animals and eliminate euthanasia as a method of animal population control, and warn the public to research the policies, procedures, and practices of any animal control facility or shelter before surrendering an animal to them.

Right now, we are a group of volunteers, working out of our homes trying to help the local community care for it's pets. We have a good spay/neuter program in operation that financially assists some pet owners with veterinary expenses. Our adoption program is based on networking, being that we do not have a shelter. We have several volunteers that have a revolving doors continually fostering and placing pets. When an animal comes into our care, we have it spayed or neutered and throroughly examined by one of our local veterinarians at which time, it will receive the recommended shots. All of our funding to pay for vet bills, etc, comes from donations, membership dues and scheduled events
