A Pets F.A.T.E. (Fair Alternative To Euthanasia) was created to help the orphaned dogs and cats in our small, rural area. We are currently the only Humane Society in our county and we are comprised of a small group of volunteers that offer our hearts and all our love to our furry friends in need. We are also the only purebred cat resuce in the entire region and do our best to help as many purebred cats as we can.

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

Welcome to Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL), a non-profit organization that has played a vital role in the Pontiac community since 1951. MARL's mission is to shelter cats and dogs found as strays or surrendered by their owners, rehabilitate them in a stable, nurturing environment, and then find the best adoptive homes for them. MARL also reaches out to help many animals in the community who are enduring hardships in their permanent homes. We provide our "residents" with the right foods, safe and comforting surroundings, socialization and training, daily exercise, and medical care.

A private organization run from my home in my spare time. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician with a full time job, so this is something I enjoy doing on the side. I only take in kittens and nursing moms to be placed on Petfinder when the kittens are old enough to go to a new home. Anyone who has a litter of kittens and can't care for them, I can take them in only if I'm not full. ANY donation of food, supplies (like cat litter) or money to helf defray the cost is GREATLY appreciated.
