Horsepower SanctuariesSince opening its doors in 1991, the mission of Redwings Horse Sanctuary has been to rescue abused and neglected horses and burros which have often been abused and neglected, or on their way to slaughter. Redwings then brings the animals to its 160-acre facility in Lockwood, California, where the largely volunteer staff nurses them back to health. Many of these equines live the remainder of their lives at Redwings, while some live at the facilities of caring community members. Siamese Cat RescueThe shelter houses up to 50 cats at a time, in a home-like environment, where the cats are allowed to roam freely within the facility following a 7-10 day isolation period. Another 30-50 cats are located with Fosters in 18+ states throughout the Eastern US. Siamese Cat Rescue CenterSiamese Cat Rescue Center is part of the nation-wide partnership of individual non-profit Siamese Rescue Centers that are dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned Siamese cats and placing them in permanent, happy homes. Our Center covers the East Coast of the US. Our aim is to promote the welfare of these special cats by finding them loving and responsible owners. Rescued cats are placed at our Shelter or in foster homes until a permanent home can be found. This system promotes the socialization of the cats and allows us to understand the personality and special needs of our cats. Cats taken in by us are often from loving homes and make wonderful pets. Many times owners are moving and are unable to take their cat. Some cats come with special needs and require that special someone to give them a second chance.
